Job Summary
As an Azure Data Engineer at EPAM Systems, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and solutions on the Azure cloud platform. The role requires hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, or Microsoft Fabric, along with programming skills in Python or PySpark. Strong knowledge of SQL and modern data warehouse and data lake concepts is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
Develop efficient data transformations with Azure Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric.Write clean and reusable code in Python or PySpark for processing large datasets.
Create and optimize advanced SQL queries and stored procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
Ensure data quality, security, and consistency across storage and processing layers.
Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot production issues.
Participate in architectural discussions to propose innovative data solutions on Azure.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
5–10 years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.Expertise in Azure Data Factory for workflow orchestration.
Proficiency in Azure Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric.
Strong coding background with Python/PySpark.
Advanced knowledge of SQL (query optimization, troubleshooting).
Experience with data lakes, data modeling, and modern data warehouses.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD in data projects is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Fundamentals.
Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, or other version control systems.Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security practices within Azure.
