About the Role
As part of the Global Infrastructure Support Team, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the core technology systems that drive our business. Your primary focus will include UNIX, Linux, and Windows Servers, along with Storage (NAS/SAN), Databases, Backups, and other essential components of enterprise IT.
This is a hands-on technical role that requires proactive monitoring, timely incident response, and collaboration with global teams to maintain operational excellence and meet strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain system health across UNIX, Linux, and Windows environments.
- Manage and troubleshoot storage platforms including SAN and NAS.
- Support enterprise databases such as DB2, Sybase, SQL, and Hadoop.
- Perform root cause analysis and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Prioritize and resolve incidents within defined SLAs; escalate as necessary.
- Perform system maintenance, configuration updates, and patch management.
- Collaborate with global IT teams for smooth infrastructure operations and compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience managing Linux, Solaris, and Windows Server operating systems.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware ESX and Microsoft
- Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage protocols and enterprise server hardware (HP, Dell).
- Proficiency with DNS, NIS, LDAP, DHCP, autofs, NFS, TCP/IP, and NTP.
- Basic database administration skills (preferably Sybase or DB2).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing Active Directory and related objects.
- Familiarity with change control and incident management processes in enterprise environments.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in any IT or engineering specialization.
- Postgraduate degree preferred but not mandatory.
