About the Role
As a Charging System Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting telecom charging platforms used by telecom operators worldwide. The role involves managing charging platforms, handling critical customer tickets, performing proactive monitoring, maintaining platform health, and ensuring uninterrupted services for millions of users.
You will be responsible for the smooth functioning of Ericsson Charging Systems, ensuring SLA compliance, executing emergency recoveries, upgrades, and collaborating closely with engineering and product teams.
This job is particularly suited for candidates who excel in Linux system administration, telecom protocols, databases, and scripting — and have hands-on exposure to IN domain nodes.
Key Responsibilities
As a Charging System Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Operational & Technical Support
- Handle customer support tickets via CSR (Customer Service Requests)
- Provide on-call and night-shift technical support
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on charging platforms
- Perform emergency recoveries and corrective actions
System & Network Maintenance
- Manage and monitor charging system platforms
- Handle Software Update Management (SUM)
- Maintain SOP/MOP and handle version control documents
- Ensure platform health, uptime, and high performance
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with Ericsson R&D, development, and third-party vendors
- Support implementation and upgrades of charging networks
- Provide expert root-cause analysis and resolution
Required Technical Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must have hands-on experience in telecom charging systems and Linux technologies.

Deep understanding of Ericsson Charging SystemExperience with telecom nodes like:
ECMS, EDA, EMM
SDP, CCN, IVR
AIR, CRS
Strong knowledge of IN protocols:
INAP, CAMEL, Diameter

OCS & PCRF architecture
Linux & System Administration
- Advanced experience in RHEL / UNIX
- Hands-on troubleshooting, monitoring, service management
- Shell scripting / Python scripting expertise
Database Experience
Hands-on with telecom-grade and modern databases:
- Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- NoSQL: MongoDB, Cassandra
Other Technical Strengths

Education & Qualifications
- UG: B.E/B.Tech in any specialization
- PG: MCA (preferred)
