Education Requirements
Candidates must hold a degree in:

- Master of Engineering (M.E.)
- Master of Technology (M.Tech)
Relevant Linux certifications like RHCE will be an added advantage.
Role Overview
As a Linux Administrator at Infosys, you will be a part of the highly skilled Consulting & Cloud Infrastructure team. You will work directly with global clients, supporting digital transformation and helping them maintain high-availability systems.
This role includes a mix of system administration, troubleshooting, automation, performance tuning, and solution engineering across Linux-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
A Day in the Life of a Linux Admin at Infosys
- Support the consulting team throughout project phases — planning, effort estimation, solution design, deployment, and testing
- Research and evaluate alternative solutions, gather data, and create proof-of-concepts (POCs)
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and functional design
- Configure solution components and troubleshoot Linux-based issues
- Perform root-cause analysis and suggest optimal resolutions
- Drive unit-level and organizational initiatives focused on value creation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enterprise solutions
Technical Skills Required
Candidates applying for this role should have strong expertise in Linux and system administration:
Core Linux Skills
- Hands-on experience with RedHat Linux, Ubuntu, Debian
- Installation, configuration, patch management, and OS upgrades
- LVM & RAID configuration and troubleshooting
- System performance tuning (OS, databases, and applications)
- Knowledge of RedHat Clustering concepts
- Strong Linux troubleshooting and debugging skills
Scripting & Tools
- Shell / Bash scripting (must-have)
- Debugging and build tools
- Automation mindset
Enterprise Environment Experience
- Experience supporting high-volume enterprise helpdesk or Linux support environments
- Exposure to virtualization and cloud technologies (VMware, KVM, AWS, Azure, GCP preferred)

- Basic understanding of MongoDB and modern DB stacks
Certification Preference
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) preferred
