Position Overview

  • Position: Network Analyst (NOC)

This role is a part of Providence’s central Business Technology Operations Center. As a Network Analyst (NOC), the candidate will support high-availability network systems, monitor live infrastructure, troubleshoot performance issues, ensure security compliance, and help maintain large-scale enterprise connectivity. The position demands a self-driven individual who can understand network operations, collaborate effectively with multiple IT teams, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Network Analyst are divided into three core functions: administrative responsibilities, network administration, and server support. Each plays a critical role in maintaining Providence’s digital ecosystem.

1. Administrative Responsibilities (30%)

  • Participate in formal change control processes, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to IT policies.
  • Assist in creating and updating technical policies and infrastructure standards to support safe deployment and maintenance.
  • Act as an escalation point during critical technical issues, coordinating with relevant teams for resolution.
  • Manage and resolve incidents, service requests, and infrastructure problems in a timely manner.
  • Follow standard change management procedures, ensuring no business disruption during maintenance.
  • Maintain professional communication with team members, leadership, and partner teams while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Deliver high-level customer service by providing clear updates and collaborating with clients, vendors, and cross-functional groups.

All administrative responsibilities aim to ensure transparency, documentation accuracy, compliance, and a smooth IT operations workflow.

2. Network Administration (60%)

This is the core responsibility of the role.

  • Support enterprise-grade network infrastructure, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and continuous monitoring of connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot network issues related to performance, connectivity failures, security alerts, and application access problems.

  • Monitor infrastructure using tools such as:

    Cisco Prime
  • SolarWinds
  • NetBrain
  • Wireshark
  • ServiceNow
  • LiveAction
  • Analyze latency, bandwidth utilization, packet flow, and link health to maintain optimal network performance.
  • Work closely with IT security teams to identify vulnerabilities, manage network patches, and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Support network operations across data centers—covering routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and internal communication systems.
  • Provide real-time monitoring and alerting to prevent downtime and maintain high service availability.

By executing these responsibilities, the Network Analyst helps maintain resilient connectivity essential for healthcare services, digital operations, and secure infrastructure communication.

3. Server & Virtual Infrastructure Support (10%)


  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot server and virtualization platforms using tools such as:

  • VmWare vSphere
  • CommVault
  • Microsoft SCCM
  • HPE OneView
  • SolarWinds Server Monitoring
  • Manage OS-level troubleshooting, log analysis, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning by assisting in backup, replication, and failover processes.

  • Ensure adherence to healthcare security standards including HIPAA, SOC, and HiTrust compliance.

  • Support data protection measures, server health monitoring, and capacity management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates should possess:

  • Strong ability to configure and administer enterprise network monitoring tools.
  • Hands-on experience with incident response, alert management, and system automation.
  • Knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and server operating systems.
  • Experience using data monitoring platforms such as DataDog, NetBrain, SolarWinds, and vSphere.
  • Ability to coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal technical teams.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical thinking and a willingness to learn advanced networking technologies.
