About the Role
This is a high-impact Linux Administrator role involving enterprise Unix support, Veritas cluster management, incident handling, and project-based tasks. The candidate will manage Linux & AIX servers in banking environments, troubleshoot critical system issues, and support automation initiatives.
The position involves handling:
- JIRA requests
- Incident and change tasks
- Technical calls with internal stakeholders
- Permanent resolution of problem tickets
- Enterprise-level Veritas cluster and storage systems
You will act as a key technical contact and maintain operational excellence across mission-critical banking systems.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Server Administration
- Manage and troubleshoot Linux & AIX servers in enterprise production environments
- Handle LVM, user management, filesystem issues, and OS performance
- Provide remote troubleshooting support
- Work closely with vendors like Oracle / IBM / Linux support
Project & Ticket Management
- Manage tasks via JIRA and ServiceNow
- Handle incidents, change requests, and problem tickets
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders
Veritas Environment Management
Hands-on experience with:
- Veritas Volume Manager
- Veritas Cluster Server (VCS)
- Veritas Volume Replicator (VVR)
- Veritas InfoScale
Backup & Storage
- Tivoli Storage Manager client admin
- Troubleshoot backup failures and restore processes
Automation & Scripting
- Encourage and implement automation solutions
- Exposure to Chef / PowerBroker preferred
Networking & Security
- Work on DNS, NFS, FTP configurations
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues in Unix environments
- Ensure OS hardening & compliance in banking systems
Shift & Operations
- Work in APAC & EMEA time zones
- Weekend on-call rotation
- Handle urgent production outages & stability issues
